"Victim of Fashion" (Episode 220-221)

Plotline

Jenny fought the Space Bikers one morning before school and netted them. Letta got mad when Jenny penny-pressed her bike. She threatened to get back at her as she and the other Space Bikers fell up into space. This left Jenny's paint job dingy so she got it fixed. Meanwhile at school, Brit and Tiff made their entrance in fashionable clothes that brought attention from fellow students. All eyes were on Jenny when they saw her shiny new coat of paint. This angered Brit and Tiff and they reminded everybody that Jenny wore the same thing every day. Realizing this, she got embarrassed and then wanted to "fashionably" get back at the Krust cousins. Sheldon, Brad, and Tuck helped Jenny update her style with new fashion options.

The next morning, Brit and Tiff stepped out with new styles. Jenny showed up looking like her regular self then had a fashion transformation before everyone's eyes. All eyes were on Jenny. Now how could Brit and Tiff compete with the new stylish Jenny? This was a fashion war! No matter what Brit and Tiff wore, Jenny fashionably outwit them and got all the looks. When Brit and Tiff started losing hope in the competition, they formed a plan; an evil plan.

When Jenny presented her new style the next morning, Brit and Tiff stealthily presented theirs; behind poles. Skinny was in and Jenny wanted to compete with that. She asked Sheldon to remove all of her weapons and he reluctantly agreed. The next day, Jenny revealed her new stick-like look. People enjoyed the simplicity of her stick-ness. Suddenly the auto shop, where Jenny got her recent paint job, blew up.

The Space Bikers were back so Letta could get back at Jenny for crushing her bike. She tried to fight them but she remembered she had no weapons. The Space Bikers clobbered the stick-thin Jenny and captured Brad and Sheldon. Soon Tuck showed up wearing a robot suit containing Jenny's discarded weapons. He used these to fight the Space Bikers and to make them leave. Doing this freed Jenny, Brad, and Sheldon.

Jenny regretted her decision to submit to fashion. Suddenly a crowd of people admired Tuck's weapon suit. Tuck explained it was all based on simplicity and took the credit for himself. Now how could Jenny compete with that?

Trivia

• This sure was an episode of montages. These include Jenny's crash course in fashion, the fashion war with Brit and Tiff, and Jenny's "lipo-suction" procedure. That's about 3 of them.


• As Brit was whispering an outwit plan in Tiff's ear, Tiff's evil grin was similar to the Grinch's grin when he plots to steal Christmas in Dr. Suess' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (notably in the 1960's tv special).


• When Jenny said, "take it off, take it all off" before her slimming procedure, it was possible that quote was from Noxema Medicated Shaving Cream commercial. The star who made the quote famous was Swedish model, actress, and author Gunilla Knutsson (probably spelled "Knutson").


• During Jenny's slimming procedure, one of the things Jenny had lost was a periscope. Tuck looked through it and we saw his green eye at the other end. This is additional proof that Tuck has green eyes.


• While Jenny and the Space Bikers were battling in the auto shop, under the "SPARK-PLUG" sign there was a symbol that symbolized the Safeway supermarket logo.


• Here's another hint that Space Biker Tammy was infatuated with Brad; she flirted with him and told him he was "kind of cute" and snagged his shirt collar onto a hanging hook. All these signs will lead to something. Stay tuned!


• Tuck seemed to be an engineering genius when assembling the suit of Jenny's discarded weapons. Sweet!


• In a suit of Jenny's weapons, as Tuck entered the auto shop, he tells the Space Bikers, "get away from her, you fish!" This similar to a scene in the 1986 sci-fi movie "Aliens" only character Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) in the robot suit ends the quote with "you b**ch!"(Source:Teenage Robot Wiki: Victim of Fashion)


• This episode debuted the fishbone image on the back of Letta and Olga's tops.

Goofs

• When Jenny was walking with Brad, Tuck, and Sheldon, there was this house they passed which looked 2 "silos" (one living room, one garage) and a narrow hallway in the middle. Where were the other rooms? Must be a cramped house.


• When Jenny was twirling in her "screw stilettos," she should have drilled a hole into the floor to fall into it. It looked like her twirl carved a circle into the top story floor not gradually make a hole bigger like drilling does.


• The way Brit, Tiff, and Jenny were dressing, it seemed like Nickelodeon didn't care they were dressed so inappropriately at times (Jenny's pimp outfit, Tiff's fishnet stockings in a police officer's costume, to name a few) and the mention of staying.


• Jenny lost a sink during her slimming procedure. How did that sink work without any type of plumbing?


• What about the auto shop where Jenny was waxed? Toward the beginning it was simply the auto shop. When Jenny introduced her skinny self, it seemed that Temorton High bought them out as it then said "Tremorton High Auto Shop" on the building. Big change in a few days, eh?


• Jenny was verbally summoning her weapons while she was attempting to fight as a stick figure. This was something she didn't always do. There could have been a better way to show the absence of Jenny's weaponry.


• In the same scene as the "Safeway logo," there was a sign that read, "TUNf-uP." Did they mean "TUNE-UP" (or TunE-Up)? What has been up with the absences of letter strokes showing up occasionally in this show lately?.

Quotes

Tiff: "You must go through a lot of wax since you wear the same thing every day."

Brit: "Now, Tiff, be fair. Wax is expensive. Maybe she can't afford fashionable clothes." [giggles]

Tiff: "Poor baby."

Brit: "No need to crowd. You'll have another chance to see this ensemble tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that and..."

crowd continues laughing

Brit: "These gowns are Jean-Philip originals. They haven't even debuted in Par-ee. At this moment, it is impossible to be more fashionable than us."

Jenny: [snickers] "Looks like Jean-Philip's repeating himself. I think I saw those potato sacks in the secondhand store last year."

Jenny transforms her look to beat the Krust cousins at their game

Brad: "Tuck, you're too young to be handling weaponry."

Tuck: "What? No way! So I made one tiny mistake. I'm still more responsible than you give me credit for."

Brad: "OK, Mr. Mature, you can be on pile duty."

Tuck: "Pile duty? Oh boy! What do I do? What do I do?"

Brad: "Just stand there and make sure all that stuff stays in a pile."

Tuck: "Aye, aye, captain!" [enthusiastically stares at the pile]

Jenny: "Hello, ladies! How are you? I'm thin, thanks for asking."

Boy (off-screen): "What's your secret?"

Tuck: "Oh, well, I'm inspired by the classics. I try to keep my lines cleans and my materials simple. And I always put on a fresh coat of wax before I leave the house."

Girl (off-screen): "Of course!"

There was a fashion war between the Krust Cousins and Jenny. Who will prove to possess the most fashion and win over the eyes of the students of Tremorton High?
